“HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR WEBSITES?”

 

It’s a common question.  The only answer we can confidently give you is that we have a minimum charge of $1,500.  That’s what we’re willing to provide our level of work for…and that’s for a beautiful, but pretty basic, starter website.  Basic sites are ideal for individuals who just need a professional web presence to showcase their work to prospective clients.  Established companies with a robust product offering and/or an established blog or eCommerce site should expect to pay more.

 

We TOTALLY understand that you have, to varying degrees, a limited understanding of what goes into building a custom website in today’s digital landscape, so we like to borrow concepts you’re familiar with to help you help us understand exactly what your looking for.  Think of your new custom website like a custom kitchen remodel.  You’d probably never call a contractor and ask them out of the blue how much it costs to remodel a kitchen, right?  It’s the same with websites.

 

 

If you can answer these questions about your current site (or your dream site if this is a brand new build), it will greatly help dial in pricing for you:

 

  • Does what you have right now meet your basic functionality needs?
  • Do you like the look, but just wanted it freshened up, or do you want us to tear the whole thing out and start from scratch?
  • Have you seen anything out there that you just have to have?
  • What’s your style?  Retro?  Modern? Clean?  Lots of Bells and Whistles or Minimalist?
  • Who is going to provide the decor?  (Your content.  Are we going to write/re-write it or just copy/paste the existing stuff)
  • Do you have some websites you can show us to help get on the same page as far as design?
  • Do you have a budget and/or time frame in mind for the project that we need to work within?

You can see why it’s so hard to throw a price out all willy-nilly and have that be an accurate cost.  Everything takes time to build, and that means added labor costs.  We’re always going to be competitively priced, don’t worry about that.  We just like to set a proper expectation about why we don’t have flat package pricing.

There’s a ton of value in utilizing our website maintenance services.  That being said, if you want to handle maintenance on your own and just call us in when you hit a snag, we’re cool with that.  Just know that priority always goes to customers on a monthly maintenance plan.  Our hourly pricing is listed below.

 

If you don’t want to mess with WordPress outside of what we show you in the tutorial videos, set up a maintenance plan with us and we’ll handle it.

 

 

WHAT CAN GO WRONG WITH MY WEBSITE?

 

No need to panic.  It’s not always that something went wrong.  The internet is a wild west of sorts, though, and there are changes happening round the clock that your website needs to adjust to.

 

Here are some common things that need attention in the back end of your WordPress website:

  • WordPress updates – there have been 18 major updates to WordPress since September 1, 2017.
  • Security Updates – there are knuckleheads all over the place trying to screw up stuff for no good reason.
  • Plug-In Updates – the internet is evolving daily.  Not a month goes by that your site won’t need updates to its plug-ins.
  • Fixing Broken Stuff – sometimes an update to something doesn’t go as planned and it crashes (some or all of) your website.

Logos are one of Steve’s love languages.  He comes up with some pretty amazing stuff, and he does it fast…not because he rushes, but because he gets into the zone and stays there until the logo looks awesome.

The process starts like anything else, with a conversation about what you already have, or have in mind.  Your logo needs to work in multiple places in the digital world, so we’re going to make sure the design represents your brand and is functional across all platforms.

“From Scratch” Logo work requires a conversation first, but usually starts around $300.  Whatever the price, it includes reasonable revisions.

Once we finalize everything, we’ll send you a complete logo set that will work on everything from letterhead and business cards to Facebook and Instagram profiles, large signage and more.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

 

Graphic Design, for us, is a focus on every website we build.  We love to customize sites to the point where they have their own unique identity.  Your company should stand out from the competition.  That’s a big part of what we do at Louder.  So much of the graphic design work we do is incredibly subtle.  It’s things like resizing an image to fit a certain space, or cropping and masking an image to highlight a particular element as it pertains to the copy on the page.

If you hire us, we’re going to make sure everything is right.  If that means having to request new images (bad resolutions, wrong concept, too small) or create elements from scratch, that’s what we’ll do.  It’s one of the more interesting part of our job.  It showcases our company to our clients as much as it showcases you to your clients, so we take it very seriously.

Alan Swan with Lakeside Reel Service reached out to us on FB about coming up with a design for some promotional koozies.  So many graphic design and logo projects start out simple like this and end up taking on a life of their own.

 

After some discussion, we set about the task of coming up with a new logo that would work for social media, as well as t-shirt, koozies and other promotional products.  We also designed a new FB cover image for Lakeside and gave them a simple tag line.  Lakeside Reel Service is a Facebook-based side hustle for Alan btw, and a very successful one.

 

The new logo is a nod to the #1 upgrade Alan makes to fishing reels, the installation of high-end BOCA BEARING© products.  Lakeside does periodic promotions, offering free services and upgrades, so if you are an avid fisherman you should go like their page.

PRICING:

 

Our copywriting services start at $1,000.00 for landing pages and home pages.  If your entire website needs a copy overhaul, we can price out a fix based on how much content you have written and how much we need to add.

We specialize in Wordsmithing.  Kind of like a blacksmith, but people gives us piles of words that they need hammered into something beautiful. Give us what you’ve written and we’ll clean it up so that your voice rings crystal clear and grabs the reader.

 

You can even send us audio recordings of what you want to say and we’ll convert it to a blog post or content for a web page.

 

Blog posts are typically in the $200-$400 range depending on the length, assuming you have some base content and images for us to start with.

If you need to do a press release, you’ll looking at $500.00 – $700.00, which includes contracting with a service that pushes the content out.  We can talk about how all that works on a call.

HOURLY WORK

 

$125/HR. BILLED BY THE SECOND

 

It’s not okay to bill in 15, 30 or 60 minute increments, effectively charging for time you did not actually work.  We think that’s kinda sucky and you’ll never convince us otherwise.

 

At Louder Marketing Group, we bill all our hourly work by the second, meaning you only pay for the actual time we spend working for you.  We’ll send you a detailed time report with your monthly invoice, so there’s no questions about where we focused our efforts.

If your site is pretty solid but hasn’t had anyone look under the hood in a few months, there are probably some things that need attention.  We’ll go through the site externally and give you an idea of what may need help. Than, we’ll give you an estimated number of hours we think it’ll take to get everything back in order.  Once we’re logged into the back end of the site, we’ll know if our estimate is off and will let you know if there’s a change in estimated time before starting work.

 

Have a budget? We’ll stick to it.

 

If you decided against a website maintenance plan, but need urgent help, we’ll do our best to squeeze you in, but it may not be possible to work on the issue right away.  It just depends on our workload.

 

 

Social Media Stuff (Business Page set-up, tutorials, ad set-up, etc.)

 

We’ve done a lot of social media work over the years, so we know our way around Facebook and Instagram.  We can help you set up a Facebook Pixel, a Facebook Business Page or tweak your existing page with better content and artwork.  We can also help you launch Facebook/Instagram ads.

 

Stop just boosting posts- it’s like taking a fist full of dollars in your car on the highway and throwing them out the window to see what happens.

Instead, we build ads in Facebook Ads Manager where you can target your ideal customer in a more meaningful way with A/B testing, various ad types, custom demographics and interests, etc.
